  • A note regarding LOST

So I know that we’re all aware that tonight is the series finale of LOST. People, such as myself, who watch LOST are usually fucking batshit crazy obsessed with LOST. People who don’t watch LOST are either completely oblivious to it’s existence, or they think that it looks stupid and are generally annoyed/confused by batshit crazy fanatics such as myself. To these non-fans I would like to say that I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND YOUR CONFUSION/ANNOYANCE.

You guys are right, LOST does look stupid. I didn’t watch it for the first four seasons because I thought it looked exceedingly stupid. Hey, it’s that obnoxious guy from Party of Five stranded on some ridiculous magic island! Oh, and there’s a polar bear for some reason! WTF?! Why on earth are all my friends so obsessed with this preposterous looking show?

Guess what? I don’t have any good answers for you people. That guy from Party of Five is still obnoxious. The ridiculous magic island really is pretty ridiculous. I don’t know how to explain my obsession with this show and why I think it’s so fucking awesome, but it IS fucking awesome. Be that as it may, I’m not trying to suggest that you try watching the show on DVD from the beginning. In fact, you probably shouldn’t. I’ve invested untold hours of my life watching this show and I honestly don’t see how I could be remotely satisfied by tonight’s series finale. It’s like heroin. After tonight, I will probably be in LOST withdrawal for the rest of my life. If you have ever watched The X Files, or even Twin Peaks, you might have some idea of what I’m talking about.

So, in conclusion, I salute you non-LOST watchers. Tomorrow all of you can continue to enjoy your LOST-free existence while I quietly cry on my Dharma Initiative pillow.
